I always recommend that anyone getting started attend in person meet ups.

Get your own broker's license.Also, join www.NARPM.com and attend as many classes there as possible.

I attended one of the MSRED programs and found the benefits to be that it accelerated my exposure to all areas of the business, and it helped me pivot my career from broker to developer. 

I'd suggest that you should try to attend your local REI networking groups and meetups.

Anyone in the area is more than welcome to attend a meeting.
