Hello- I am considering purchasing a property that is a main home (3 bed 3 bath) with an attached apartment over the garage (1 bed, 1 bath) with separate entrance.

I ended up spending a lot of money on both of these repairs, because I had to get a large portion of the main sewage line replaced.

Mainly looking for appreciation rather than cash-flow. 

Are they separate meters from the main home and does it have its own water / sewer lines?

Mainly I am getting an education at the moment 🙂How about yourself?

Since it was 3 stories it was economic to run a main truck line from the basement to the third floor and a main return duct from the basement also to the third floor; and several other smaller runs. 

It's on a Main Street (Perry BLVD), and it is on a bus line.About 8 months ago, one unit went vacant, and we can't find another tenant no matter what we try or how low we go with the posted rent.

But the two main cities I would avoid in Akron is Firestone park, Elizabeth Park, and Cascade Valley.
