Mahalo @Loren Clive for the mention. We decided to add 2 tiny homes on trailers recently to our rental properties to help house those affected by the fires and also have another income source. All together costs $50k each for purchase, double siding, setup/install, trailer, will be more if needing a separate electric, sewer and water source and can be up and running in 30-45 days. The permitting process for a new build has been extremely slow like @Travis Bradburn mentioned and ours is taking 2.5-3yrs because we faced some unpermitted issues, it sucks! Also @Caroline Neubauer is another great realtor/investor on Maui to have as a resource locally.
