The general contractor I'm interviewing is asking for comps. Is this the norm or either I sound too friendly and he's trying to be nice and help me out(that's a stretch) or the more likely one - do I sound so inexperienced (which I am, inexperienced that is) and he just wants to make sure he'll get paid? Thanks everyone ahead of time!

It will be in Tampa most likely, around Tampa Heights or Seminole Heights, or anywhere in between. I haven't bought one yet because I don't have a contractor to estimate repairs.

I chose flipping a property as my first RE investing endeavor. I am ready to do my first flip. The only thing missing is a contractor I can trust, or a few. I am confident I can get a good deal and come up with a very accurate ARV estimate, just not the repair estimates or the repairs. I wish... I also don't know many people in the area. I would consider a collaboration with a more experienced investor or a person with any kind of resources available, even if it is just their pure ambition :) I think that is a great asset in the world where an average person would rather complain constantly than change something about their life.
