@Todd Rasmussen thank you for your comment. I’m thinking that I would walk away. Not only am I going to have to spend money to get this person out I have to deal with this sewerage issue. I’m trying to figure out how much this will cost.

@Ondrej Brown this isn’t typical but I actually host exchange students. I have two and they each pay $1300 per month. My mortgage is $2400... I have to take them to school and provide meals but it’s so easy. Great way to start.

I got the property UAG from a auction. Sight unseen. It’s a 2 family in Brockton MA ( C/D) area and home. I plan to hold and rent out.

What should I do... I feel like after today I don’t want this property. Am I over reacting or should I push through?

Issues :

1. Long story short old landlord still lives there, I met her and she will not take cash for keys. I found a local eviction attorny to serve day of closing ... EVICTION BATTLE

2. Since prior landlord isn’t being very cooperative we couldn’t had access to property to really evaluate damages

3. Today I went to get a final water read.... thinking when they see water department they would open door. They did ! I went in behind the water department guy and the basement has a huge plumbing issue SH&T and water was EVERYWHERE. Water department called the sewerage department. They came out and told me that to fix you would need to drill floor of basement to ā€œfixā€ the problem.

@Gordon A. I’m from Boston and I’m a investor and agent in the area. What everyone is saying is true, BUT.... that area is amazing for rentals. You can’t bet it. If you can do it... DO IT. If you need more details on comps etc. I can send you my direct contact. The area is changing everyday is would be the time to buy that area.
