@Michael Quarles Thank you for your very detailed answer. I appreciate the feedback and will apply it. Very sound wisdom. I've struggled with the lack of commitment in reaching my goals and self-development has been my biggest focus.

Love the quote. Having a coach and a motivator can make the world of difference, They can help you overcome your own objections and guide you into new heights you would never have gone alone. I listen and read about to a lot of famous and successful people and the common thread to their success they place on having a mentor. Someone who taught them how to be great and without them, they could not be the great men and women they became.

Really, thanks Michael for your time and attention to my questions. I'll be sure to listen to your podcast.

I'm curious, Caleb, what did you do to get started with real estate investing?

Bigger Pockets is exceptional and filled with information for anything I need to be successful in real estate investing, but even Brandon Turner suggests finding a mentor is good for starting out (via The Ultimate Beginner's Guide To Real Estate Investing).

I think having a local mentor who I can build a relationship with is great for me. This also allows me the chance to meet other investors in my local market and create opportunities that reach outside of Bigger Pockets.

Hey BP Community,

Starting out and I am searching for a mentor to help me get started. I understand how important a mentor relationship is to my success.

-How do I know I have found a good mentor?

-How do I know I need to find another mentor?

-What are some things you look for in potential mentee that tells you that you are willing to invest your time and energy into them?
