Hey everyone,

I recently took out some equity ($50,000) to kick start my real estate investing venture. I was planning on using that money to acquire a 2 family to house hack or using the money to acquire a 1 family to possibly flip. However, I would like to know what some of you might do with the money if you were a newbie in the real estate investing world? Since I plan on investing in and around the Boston, MA area, it would be greatly appreciated to here from investors from Boston. But everyones opinion is welcome. Thanks!!!

If you plan on investing in the Greater Boston area, I can definitely help you with neighborhoods in and around Boston. The suburbs of Boston are a great place to invest if you can find a good deal to flip. As for rental properties, my mother owned a rental property in Dorchester around '10 unfortunately wound up getting a bad tenant. She went through a long legal process of evicting her tenant and getting back her money loss from the property over the course of a few months (don't know the exact number).

Hello Everyone,

I am a 19 y/o Freshman in college, studying business and I wanted know if your college education has helped you in your REI investment careers? If you don't have a college education, do you think you would have benefited from the education, why or why not? I am considering transferring into a community college or state school and getting my real estate license while in school. I would utilize my license to gain a job in the field of real estate so that I am able to gain experience and save money to invest in my first flip or house hack.

Give me your thoughts, please!

I'm new to REI industry and would like to know, What qualities do you look for in a contractor? What makes a contractor better than another?

Hi Everyone, I am an 18 year old Boston native attending University in New Hampshire. I'm really interested in breaking into the real estate industry, but I don't know which route I should take. I'm drawn to real estate development/flipping, however I don't know if I'm ready to take such a huge leap. If anyone one has any suggestions or advice, it would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!

Here are a few factors that may influence my decision:

-Currently a student

- 0 to little capital/savings

- 700+ credit score

- Lack mentorship

- Design oriented
