Any one have experience in converting a single family home into a duplex?

I'm eyeing a single family home that is originally 3 bed rooms and to baths.  It properly converted its garage into an extra living space with a valid permit.  It is now a 5 bedroom with three baths.  The garage actually could be considered a small two bedroom unit.  I'm just curious if anyone has added another set of meters and possibly address so that the two units could differentiate the utility costs and shipping addresses.

Thanks

You might want to contact the landlord services department directly that covers the area your rental is located to get specific answers.

I've called them but it seems they depend on some computer spreadsheet.  Even they can't say the final price until all the information is punched in...

Hi,

Does anyone have an accurate process on how to estimate Section 8 rental prices?  Section 8 offers a fair market valuation on their local county websites per number of rooms a house has but this is not completely accurate.

I was hoping if anyone has a more accurate way of evaluating rental prices from Section 8.

Thanks

Thanks everyone for your feedback.  I wasn't too alarmed with the new administration but just wanted to get other input on this especially those that are more seasoned than me.

Is there any risk with the current administration on housing welfare.

I have a rental unit that is profiting from section 8 as it pays higher in a poorer neighborhood.  It was a good deal, so this unit can still profit if it needs to go with local market prices.

Just curious if I should continue this strategy with section 8 and maybe I should be more conservative with my margins for future investments.

What's everybody's view or understanding of how the GOP and Trump could affect section 8?

Thanks
