JOHN, I would love to see your sources on those market decreases in Canada and China. You sound so certain the real estate apocalypse is near, there must be some well grounded experience and data to support. Please, do share!

I just started investing this year and also just turned 45.  5 units under my belt and about to acquire two more.

So if I'm understanding correctly and the rates haven't changed too much since this last post, an investment property, not in a flood zone would likely start at $700/annual.

What about Named Storm Coverage? Is this also required and if so, also based on elevation?

Add above to normal dwelling insurance and it seems we are creeping up to $300 to $400 per month just for insurance. Does that seem typical for New Orleans?

thanks @James Martin  from some other threads, I was under the impression that with NSC, Flood Insurance and regular coverage, the monthly bill would run $300-400 per month!  That's much higher than even your 2k projection.

Really trying to nail down these numbers as I plan to make offers when in NO next month and would like my numbers to be as accurate as possible.
