Clara,

Your budget is a little tight for a great school area here in Orlando, but you can achieve some of your other criteria. Will keep an eye out for you; let's keep in touch.

Lane,

Saw you have had lots of good advice, so I will keep it brief. You could not have chosen a better online resource to further your real estate education and networking. I would highly recommend the podcasts, as I found those particularly helpful.

To your success!

Lance,

I saw you had an interest in Florida. Orlando is a very hot market right now, and I routinely come across go buy/hold opportunities. You can find recent statistics on this market here. If you do have an interest in this region, please feel free to reach out to me.

To your success!

Hi @Dorcas Wood, Welcome to BP. I used to live in Miami for 9 years, so I know the "tropical paradise" well. Above-all, I would recommend you listen to the podcasts; these were the most helpful for me in learning about real estate investing options.

Best of luck to you.

Hi @Justin Worley

I understand exactly where you are at. A little more than 2 years ago, I was in the same place......working such crazy hours that I hardly saw my kids; I decided to go into real estate investing full time which gave me the flexibility to spend time with the family and work at the same time.

Best of luck to you and your family.

Chris,

I am a realtor and investor based here in Orlando. You will find that real estate in Central Florida  is somewhat cheaper than the northeast overall. The market here is thriving and competitive for investment.  Here is a great resource for learning more about the market.

When looking at Condos, pay close attention to the HOA fees; some are reasonable, while some are horrendous.

When do you plan on moving or investing here?

The final numbers are in, and the Orlando Real Estate Market thrived in 2015, with:

  • 15% increase in home sales
  • 9% increase in the Median Home Sale Price
  • 8% decrease in Inventory

Full official report and statistics can be reviewed here

All of the above are indicative of an active market that should have investors drooling.

BP members, what do you think? Are you ready to jump in?
