I'm in gainesville? Also, I already own this house I'm renting out.

I just mostly worry about the loss in value of a property after a sinkhole , and that it would be more difficult to rent out?

I don't understand why so little attention is given to this topic as this is a major issue in florida.

What if I were to refinance this house, what happens in case of a sinkhole. The house was bought all cash. If I refinance and the house loses value, what happens then?  Thanks !

Hello, I've experienced constant pain trying to get landlord insurance with added sinkhole endorsement.

This is making me begin to think that owning real estate in Florida to rent out is a bad idea. I'm seriously considering cashing in and moving on from real estate. Are there any carriers that offer this ? I've talked to numerous agents about this, so far very little luck.

This is ridiculous. Please, what are others doing about this? Florida is covered in sinkholes, I can't be the only one in this situation!

If I do find insurance, my second concern is what to do once a property has had a sinkhole?

Is renting/selling possible, or much more difficult?

What about sinkhole endorsement insurance once I had a sinkhole claim ?

I think this forum needs a thread just focused on sinkholes honestly.

Thanks :)

No my current policy didn't want to add sinkhole endorsement , just plain catastrophic.
I surely can't be the only one with these struggles ?

Oh, and some carriers even mention that they can drop sinkhole coverage during a policy period. Makes it even worse.

Hello all,

I'm sure I'm not the only one who's struggling to obtain simple sinkhole insurance (sinkhole endorsement). It's ridiculous, I must have asked at least 40-50 carriers, went through Citizens in the end. I might have found one , but the price is about $1000 more annually than my current insurance. I've heard several people say the sinkhole inspection report looks good, no cracks, nothing looks bad, etc. Only soil indexes were too high , whatever that means.

This concerns me deeply. Suppose that I do ever have a sinkhole at that property, than what!?? Then it would certainly be impossible to get coverage again, as I'm sure than that this higher premium carrier would drop me.

What are others doing about this?

I live in Florida btw and so is my property.

Thanks

I have contacted so many brokers and agents, nothing so far!  It's ridiculous , it almost puts me of being in real estate.  There is no damage to my property or signs of any activity , yet it's impossible to add simple sinkhole endorsement.

I had the inspection but off course my insurance denied the coverage , after I waited for weeks for an answer.  I'm just about to give up finding this coverage.  I've been at this for months, at least 5 to 6.

Hello all,  So happy to have found this great forum .

Anyway,  I'm having difficulties with my insurance company, at least that they decided to drop my insurance due to some vague issues.

My question is , what are some reliable insurance companies in Florida , that are also highly likely to provide sinkhole endorsement coverage?   Many companies seem finicky about sinkhole coverage.

Thanks :)

my insurance requires the inspection, and I have been looking for ways around it :)

hello , thanks for the reply. Could you please let me know of any companies that will give out sinkhole endorsement policies without an inspection. I'm way too worried about the inspection, if it fails etc . Thanks! :)
