I have about $60k equity into my personal home. I'm interested in purchasing a duplex around $30-50k. I don't have much to put down as a down payment. Would it be wiser for me to take out a home equity loan on my personal house to finance this deal??? Newbie from Rochester ny I could use some guidance

Hi my name is Tony I'm from Rochester ny and I work for CSX (railroad) as a welder doing maintenance on the tracks, it's a good job with great benefits so I really don't want to quit my job but I'm looking for a side business. I'm not sure if real estate is for me but before I jump in head first I would like to know some feed back about the matter. I don't know what I'm getting into so I'm hoping I can get some help from you. Do I buy to flip? Do I buy and hold? I'm looking forward hearing from you
