@Marci Stein yes, not a victim, but do you see my question? If you posted on whatever topic with no ill will or intentions, do you really think you can be blamed or would be fault? I think people see things two ways which is fine, but I am curious based on your first post. Sometimes blame deserves to be pointed where it is warranted.

@Adam Kruze I have owned to campus close triplexes built in 1900 and served me well until I sold and made $200k plus and also had cash flow for years. I have also flipped 1900, 1915, 1920 houses so it can be done. I tend to agree that older than 60’s always check foundations as they can be faulty. You can make money on anything IF the price and numbers make sense. Lastly, I still own 1914 campus 4 plex since 2008. It has shot up from $228 to $459k last appraisal.

@Marci Stein I am perfectly fine with what I said. This is a RE forum, but when anti landlord people attack and are malicious and without any fault to myself, I disagree with you. So, what if you posted something political in nature on your facebook, you think that someone opposing your private views and NOTHING to do with your job should be able to reach out 3000 miles away and attack you ? Is that what you are saying, I wrote a public statement that was NOT harmful, racist or demeaning, but I need to be careful with what I post? That is what is wrong with our country, its all PC and one person can tear down someone innocent. I hope this doesnt happen to you, but it may help you understand if it does. Again, I would make the same statements today and have zero regrets. I will not hide in a cave or under a rock, am I am a good and compassionate guy. But, who knows, maybe you are part of the anti landlords group as well.

@Jónas Tryggvi Stefánsson I agree with you to a point. IF you write something on Facebook that is innocent or just an opinion, should you be slandered for it, or let go? What if your content was pure and good and not evil? You are saying that its your fault if this happens to you? I dont care that my RE got me in trouble, but someone across the US coast wants to twist and be malicious due to their agenda? Sorry, not agreeing with you.

@Anthony Wick FB has been my friend MANY times while vetting a prospect. It amazes me what you can learn. One profile pic was a guy holding drugs and alcohol when we discussed my place was not a party scene. What about people who say they have no pets but their profile pic shows them with 3 pit bulls and says “dog mama”. These are real from just months ago. Also, FB rental posts to date have NEVER found me a qualified tenant, and don’t know why.

@Kai Van Leuven I did not wrestle but I live in Corvallis and watch some there. Both my sons wrestled and went to state, and both gave up their successful basketball careers to do it as they wanted an individual challenge. My oldest son tried wrestling his senior year of HS and got beat during the regular season by two guys who he faced later in districts, and he then pinned them BOTH! one of those boys had been wrestling since the 5th grade and tears were streaming down his face. Jason then wrestled for the Championship and of course went to state and won his first two matches but day 2 faced one of those kids he pinned at districts, and Jason fell out there. But, only a first year wrestler and and made a name for himself in a rare way and I was proud of him! I do know several OSU wrestlers so who is your friend?

@Sherry Byrne my experience with FB was massive bad credit people. EVERYTIME. Craigslist used to work but Zillow is my go to, but their functions dont work well for me and I try to engage with the prospect directly myself

@Joyce Tavares this is good to know. I just posted below but I do something very similar to you. Zillow has awesome format for listing but horrible customer skills or contact.

@Erik Hull that is interesting. I use Zillow for listing rentals and have never used their rental services. I left a voicemail one time as their charges were not correct and never heard back either. I have thought about trying to deal with them as some customers who contact me have these green boxes checked stating application pre approvals but have wondered about their process. A big concern to me is their lack of customer service. Does anyone have input for me on this ? Help as well

@Patrick McGrath I have tried calling zillow and does not seem to exist. How does the rental manager work, and when all the green boxes are checked does that mean zillow has done background? I use mysmartmove.com and am not sure they are great and I use zillow to market my rentals so I have wondered about this service and how it works.
