@Shawn McCormick @Tyler Gibson

I know Orlando has a lot of furnished townhomes, which is great. Does Tampa or any other STR friendly cities in Florida offer townhomes that come furnished also?

That’s good news. Are there any boot camps you’d recommend @Kash Jawed?

@Kash Jawed thanks for the ideas. Will companies hire you if you don’t have a degree and only did a bootcamp and got a certificate? Can you put your homework assignments on your resume as projects you completed?

@Jeff Shumway thanks so much for the explanation. This confirms what I thought to be true.

I talked to a loan officer yesterday and she said that if the home has an existing property management company in place from the prior owner and prior bookings that extend into your ownership, you can’t keep that same company or the bookings, but you’re able to hire a new company. Has anyone heard that before?

I would only want to try long-distance short-term rental investing if I could hire a property manager.

Alittle confused about the second home option. If I purchase a second home in Florida just say, I can put 10 percent down and occupy it for 14 days out of the year or more. I can rent it out the rest of the year but I cannot place the property in a rental program I must be in complete control?

If I go the vacation home investment property route I need to put 15 to 20% down and there are no rules to occupancy or putting into a rental management company?

I have these same questions. Was anyone able to answer this?

@Wayde Hall what is your opinion on Storey Lake? How is the cash flow there?

That's a good idea @Heigo Protten. A side hustle is probably all I have time for at the moment before I commit to anything long-term. Thanks for the advice!

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has any personal recommendations for a vacation property management company for a possible STR in the Kissimmee area. I'm afraid if I choose a big company, they will let just anyone stay at my property and won't care about possible damage. However, a bigger company could also lead to a higher occupancy rate.

Also, which communities would you recommend? I'm interested in a newer community and from what I heard so far Storey Lake, Championsgate, and Windsor Hills are good areas.

Thanks,

Tiffany

I currently work in healthcare but the long hours of standing are getting to me and I would love to be able to work from home... I'm not fully aware of all the "tech" jobs available yet and need to do more research. I just know that I love real estate and the idea of remote work, and am trying to find out what career options are available. I was hoping there'd be some type of "bootcamp" I could sign up for without having to go back to college to get a degree, or to find some entry level position. From what I've learned so far, data analysts seem to be in demand. I am detail oriented and analytical but introverted. Just looking for ideas or how to get started at this time.
