Hey BP!

I'm from Overland Park, KS now living in Texas.  I'm looking for general contractor recommendations; someone who works kind of like a one stop shop. If you know any kick *** GCs and willing to share please feel free to holler at me!

Thanks yall!

@Luther Wilson III, I'm also from KC living in Texas. I just bought a rental in KCK and looking for a GC. Would you mind sharing your recommendations?

Thanks Gentlemen for the replies. Michael those are some great suggestions. I will look into that.

I think I could try to find a great deal for myself, fix it up, refi then find a duplex to invest in. Thanks so much again.

Hey BP! I don't have "mentors" just yet so I thought I would ask the BP community.

I'm a newbie REI and just moved to Houston. Houston market is hot but expensive for me just starting out. I decided to invest in Kansas City due to great appreciation rates, affordability and I know that area like the back of my hand. For the past 4 months I've been reading , analyzing deals, got pre approved by a traditional lender and HML, touring houses and making offers since May. Nothing has worked out so far.

I'm currently renting and want to buy my own house here in Houston using my VA loan by December. However I was hoping to buy my 1st IP this year and continue stacking from there, 15 doors in 5yrs.

My question is should I continue looking for an IP and start my own home search at the same time 😬 or just hold off on the IP and focus on my own house then start looking for an IP in the Spring?

Background: I'm not into house hacking. I'm in the military and my kids move around enough as it is, lol. Thanks so much for reading my long post and your advice!

Being new to Houston and real estate investing this was a great post.

Weird bc I called United first and they told me they no longer do Vendee thsts why I called VRM.

Hello all I wanted to add what I found as I just tried to apply for this program. Unfortunately not all homes listed as VA REO have the option for financing through Vendee program (which is what happened in my case).

To see if the home qualifies you just contact VRM and theyll tell you if it does or not. Also financing is done in house with their mortgage dept, VRM Mortgage Services. So long story short everything is done through VRM. Good luck to you all. This is truly a unicorn program but great if you can snag a deal!

Newbies! It is important learn to analyze deals and to find a good deal but with so much info out there it is easy to get caught up. Brandon Turner said something in last weeks webinar that just killed all that noise for me. If you new to the game, just find a deal. Just get in the game.

So simple, loved it. Hope this helps someone too.

Agreed I think there would be some folks here that network in other languages. That would be really cool

So I'm a BP fanatic and my husband is down with making REI a family business which is great!

But his primary language is Spanish and sadly I'm from Oklahoma😔. Thank God love is a universal language😂.

Is there a group within the BP community that speaks spanish? Or any forums or blogs that are published on Spanish?

Thanks guys.
