thank you. I will try the lap top next time.

This is the second webinar I have tried to attend. I tried on my cellphone and on my tablet. I only get to the waiting to join webinar page and it will not load any further. Am I the only one who gets this?

@Jason Green Thank you so much for that great info. It helps a ton!  I am going to look into this Keller Williams franchise and see what it is all about.  Thank you for the insight into the cost as well. as this will be a large factor for me initially.  Also the portion about taking commission for yourself is a valuable point that I would have overlooked in a broker and now I will make sure I check into it.

@Scott Schultz  Thank you for the insight I think that taking a similar path to yours would be a great way to get into the business and gain great experience.  I am leery of the possibility of failure but I know that my drive and passion will carry me through.  I am not deterred by making 30k the first year, or spending money to get in. I just really want to start and be smart about it.  And its good to see some insight from Hodag country.

@Christy Harris  Thank you for the input I am thinking about the benefits of becoming a Realtor in a very similar way about saying money on property buying and selling.  It seems to me that having a good broker keeps coming up time and time again as being a huge factor. Thank you, and year 2 good job! I am hoping to replace my 9-5 in the next few years as well.  I love helping people and working with them and I am excited to be able to for such a large life event as purchasing a home.  Thank you again!

And I will be open to sharing my experience with the BP community as I go!  I am going to continue to network and meet other people so I can be a more valuable player in the real estate game. Thank you so much for the help thus far

I am at the very beginning stages of my realty/investing career. I have only just started looking into investing in Wisconsin and have not purchased my first property yet. But I have found mixed reviews on becoming a Realtor in Wisconsin and if it is worth it to aid in investing. Just a little background info on myself and my situation to start. I am engaged and have a beautiful 5 month old son. We just purchased our first home and we close in May. I work at a body shop 40hrs a week and no weekends. I make about 30-40K and my wife stays home with my son. And we are going to spend a good majority of our savings on closing costs and getting the home ready to live in. I am not 100% on our budget for once the mortgage kicks in and we have home owner costs but we will not be able to save thousands a month like we do now. We will be on a pretty strict budget. Anyway I understand there are costs involved with being a Realtor and that starting out can be difficult and then money may not come in right away (or for a long time) depending on how you do. From what I understand if you only have a few properties and do not plan on growing that the cost of being a Realtor may not be worth it. But I think that if you plan on really growing your investing career, that being a Realtor can really save you on commission costs and access to the MLS is a very great feature. But how do you know when you have invested enough to make it worth it? I would also love to become a full time Realtor and invest on the side. But I think this time in my life will make that very difficult to do. There is also considering being a Realtor's Assistant to get you feet in the door and have a consistent income. What are some possible routes I can take or does anyone have any suggestions for ways I could get into becoming a Realtor and/or realty investor. Thank you.

I may have found a great mentor in Wisconsin! have reached out to a family friend who is a Realtor, an electrician, and a real estate investor! He is a triple threat! I work a regular 40hr week and only have a few thousand dollars lying around to use.  And I only have a few weeks worth of knowledge about real estate investing. But how can I help him? He has so much to offer for me and I feel like I have nothing to return. what have some of you done for your mentor to help out? Thank you so much.

I agree that there are great resources on the internet and that it is a great wealth of knowledge. BP has been the greatest source so far for me. I may be old school but I just like to read paperbacks. I did get some tax books and corporation books. I also purchased some self motivation books. I will be reading books at home and I will be surfing BP daily and getting ready for my first purchase! Thank you so much for the insight.

I love to read the actual paperback copies of books much more than on the tablet or smart phone. I am in the very beginning stages of investing and I am trying to get my hands on as much information as possible.  BP has been the biggest help thus far.  But I did find a great website that has most of the great investing books for as low as .01$ with 3.99 shipping per book.  Or any other type of book for that matter.

http://www.valorebooks.com/

I was suspect at first but I have bought almost 30 books from them so far and they all arrive in about a week and they are used but in great condition.  I hope this helps anyone looking for a great paperback book resource.  And I'm sorry ahead of time if this is not allowed. Thank you.
