I live near that area. Its an excellent zip for appreciation rentals with nothing worse than B- neighborhoods.

Congrats! Keep up the hard work and go find a few more to build on your success.

Search google for "we buy ugly houses kc" or similar sites. Or search something that a motivated seller might search like "sell my house fast kc". You'll find plenty.

Also, posting here is a good start!

@Ryan Guffey I would start by going up to the Education tab in the top navigation bar, then click into Glossary or Guides. There's also a Finance topic available under Education that might be helpful.

REIAs are Real Estate Investor Associations. Start with the National REIA, where you can then find local REIAs.

https://nationalreia.org/find-a-reia/

There's a lot of information on this site that can help with learning terminology, you are in the right place! Read the articles and blog posts. Plenty of breakdowns on different financing options as well.

Find the local REIAs in the area, many are still doing virtual meetups.

Hey @Brianna Reynolds. We'd like to start out somewhere in the Northland, Gladstone maybe. But we aren't tied to a particular location, just looking for the best deal we can land coming out of the gate!

Hey @Joseph Crunkilton, thanks for the reply.

I've connected with a couple wholesalers. I'm analyzing the deals they are sending my way using a few tools i've found, trying to hone my skills. So far i haven't seen much worth seriously looking into, lots of C or even D class neighborhoods with unrealistic ARVs. Hoping to get on more buyer lists to improve and increase the deals coming my way.

KC does seem to be a great place to invest!

Hello BiggerPockets!

I'm a new investor based in Kansas City. Hoping to connect with other investors in the area and start growing my network. I work full time as an IT Manager, so my plan is to set things up as automated and passive as possible. The idea of buying and holding real estate to provide both an immediate revenue stream and a long term investment is very enticing.

Starting out, i'm looking to find good BRRRR deals to make the most out of my initial capital, which I know will be the opposite of automated and passive. Once the portfolio has decent cash flow, I hope to use any proceeds to continue building through turnkey deals or multi-family projects.

I've been reading the forums and watching the podcasts, webinars, and videos on BP. Look forward to hearing from all of you. Thanks.
