Tim, I do a lot of SEO - I would seriously niche this down. Watch for your site construction and how you name your folders. Build it smart from the ground up so you can manipulate the meta code, Facebook Open Graph code, and the Google+ code.

Make sure you build a wordpress inside the site and blog on it often.

Lastly, if you have a couple of big focus points on this site you may have to buy a few domain names. You should also have some sort of white paper or PDF that you can use to create engagements.

Classified ad sites post their results in about 24 - 48 hours.

Youtube videos go live and rank in about 15 minutes, ( if you tag them right)

Craigslist - can be iffy - but will rank their posts on Google in about 3-4 days.

If I had something I wanted to rent I would seriously build my own site and hook up a wordpress system to it and let it rank in about 3 days. You can do this and you wouldnt have to be relying on a system like Zillow or some big hosting site with lots of other competitors.

Jerry, Wordpress should work on Macs as long as you are using a C-panel hosting account. I don't think its compatible with Macintosh sites. A friend of mine had a Mac computer and it came with a hosted website that we couldn't work with very well. It seemed to have its own page builder etc.

Aside from that you shouldn't have a problem.

You have to be really careful when you use Google Adwords. If you don't know what you're doing it can be a lot of trouble and you can waste a lot of money quickly. I had another problem with the Youtube views. The problem here was money was taken out of my account and I got some views but they didn't appear on my Google Analytics for some reason.

Check out Twitter ads, Facebook ads, and PPV. Pay per view is a really interesting pay per click model. You can actually get traffic for a fraction of a cent. You basically piggy back off of popular websites and funnel traffic back to your sites. You can funnel traffic from MTV, Forbes, CNN, New York Times etc.

You can make good connections on it. I find that you should post interesting news stories on it at least 4 X a day and be consistent about it. Then you should also interact with other people and add your two cents in on the discussions.

I've been using Bing Maps for my personal use lately. Ive been having pretty good luck with that.

Google Maps just announced that it will be discontinuing their program by Jan. 29, 2016. It is available for the time being but it will be taken down sometime soon without a warning.

Cornelius you got the right one.

The free Wordpress sites off of Wordpress.com won't let you post about one business exclusively. They are really picky about that for some reason.

Yes, go for the PR8 and the PR9 links. I haven't checked the links on this site yet but I bet its a high PR7, PR8, and PR9. Active Rain is another good site to get plugged into. Google and SEO nerds will swear up and down that page rank is dead but Matt Cutts will never fess up to what works or what doesn't. I know when you get connected to these properties your rankings go up and stay up.

If you want to get on Google's good side then use their tools - Youtube, Blogger and Google+. If you aren't using Google+ plus code into your web pages look into it. Social media code is big this year. Hardly no ones doing it but they should. Your pages will get ranked better and hold their high rank.

I like the wordpress professional templates. A lot of guys use those as their main site. But I like to stack up the site like this:

1. landing pages
2. wordpress template
3. social media links that feed the landing pages

You will notice that the free wordpress templates are pretty ugly and are not very artistic. They can be durable though which is nice. The professional look of the premium templates, (theres some good companies out there) that actually look like designed landing pages are much better.

The free version of wordpress is OK but if you want to do nothing but self promote you are going to have problems. Wordpress will revoke your account and will not allow you to publish on it. I try telling my lawyer clients this and it goes in one ear and out the other.

Your best option is the use the Wordpress software that comes in a Cpanel hosting account. After you install it into your website the sky is the limit. You can self promote all day long and not have to worry about how many times you talk about your company.
