No, I have a website that I use as channel management and I am able to take direct bookings.  I use the company MyVR.  It's super easy and they have a really helpful team.

I did just confirm my rental on google maps and that should hopefully drive some traffic direct to my website as well.

I always just block my calendar for a few weeks then open it back up....just gets the algorithm going again!

Congratulations on our new journey!

My first piece of advice is to never put all of your eggs in one basket (with Airbnb) and I think they would tell you that too!

Secondly, make sure you have a robust workflow (this is NOT a passive business) and remember you are now in the hospitality business.  Make sure you get every guest to sign a booking form.

Third, you will make mistakes and that's okay!

Happy hosting!

Alanna

I would love to know how this turns out for you. Honestly, some people just feel the need to provide I formation.

I agree it is rare but I think a few messages back and fourth can give you additional confidence.

I have been hosting for over 10 years and I would have no issue renting to this family.

If you don’t want a gathering at your home I would just be up front and honest about that and make it very clear in your booking forms.

Best of luck on your hosting Journey.
