Seems like you are in a good spot with how much you have saved up. But monthly income is probably worth increasing like Arjun K. mentioned. I'm 23 that has been my main focus. Since I live in California I haven't had a lot to save with the cost of living here, but my income has been a lot higher with how much work I get on the side of my main income. You found the right place to learn. Listen to all the podcasts you can and read the beginners guide! http://www.biggerpockets.com/real-estate-investing That thing is loaded with information.

Cheers!

Hey everyone,

I am currently going through the scouting phase looking good neighborhoods and areas for potential in Salt Lake. We've been leaning towards the University where single family homes are lower.

Where are you guys looking now in Salt Lake?

Welcome Cody! Hopefully we can help each other out in the SLC area someday in the future.

I would be interested for sure. I work in South OC though so just depends when it is. I'll keep an eye out for this.

Awesome to see SLC popping up more and more. Looking around that area with my business partner might end up in Provo first though for a few years. SLREI sounds awesome though! Welcome to BP though.

Thanks Mehran Kamari! I can't wait. I'm going to start keeping my eye out for people in my area especially. Its filled with rental units so I'm sure some of them must be from BP. Excited to learn a lot here.

Hey Brandon Turner! Thanks for the friendly welcome. Love the main beginner e book, and love the podcast. Makes sitting in traffic a whole lot easier, and that is something you have way less of.

But wow, thank you for the links! Any stuff like that giving solid advice where to start especially at my age is very appreciated.

I would love a Multi family but I think a single family might be more realistic for the first one. I know there would be some benefits if we got a Multi family and one of us lived in one unit. But price factor may be the thing that decides for at least our first unit.

Is there any reason you would recommend against that?

Thanks Brandon I love the site and all that you are doing both in terms of helping out future real estate investors learn for free and as a web guy. You've put together something really amazing here so for the last time in this post thank you!
