@Chris Allen Congrats on your REI so far. Sounds like you have great options moving forward. My husband and I are both travel nurses on contract in California (I am ICU as well). We are also a REI team. We just closed on our first property last week in SATX. As of right now, everything is up in the air for us considering the critical needs of travel nurses, which in turn means critical $$ contracts.

We currently do not have plans to go back to school for advanced degrees. Instead, we plan to devote more time to increasing our earning potential through travel nursing and house hacking so that we are able grow our investments quicker.

I have been on the go the last few weeks but was able to secure our first duplex and are moving forward with the process. We will be managing with a property management company that is an extension of the real estate company we are using. Hope to share more once we get everything finalized! Many thanks to all the resources provided by BP community. Good luck to you!

@Gabriel Madrigal That's great it is working out for you! Yes I am looking into San Antonio, TX for my first investment. I will actually be traveling back home (Texas) next week and hoping I can see some properties. I am in search of small multifamily. :)

@Gabriel Madrigal, welcome to BP! I am new as well and have enjoyed all the great resources BP provides such as podcasts, webinars, and connecting with other investors. I am currently travel nurse in Norcal and have been in the area for 7 months (great area) and I can tell you there are always needs for rentals for travel nurses. I know there are many markets to pursue, just offering my perspective as a renter. Best wishes to you and your REI goals!

@Chase Cline that's so great to learn!! We have only been traveling for 1+ year but we are enjoying it very much. We are both nurses so the rough part is managing schedules. Thank you for the info about STRs. Corpus Christi is a place we are considering as well, glad that it is working out well for yall. haha yeah the travel bug bites hard during travel nursing.

Hello @Chad Magill thank you for reaching out. So glad to know you are doing so much to be a part of Corpus Christi, as that is my hometown as well. I will be sure to reach out for any questions I have on the area. Good luck in your ventures :)

@Bryan Noth Thank you for the encouragement. It is both an exciting and anxious step!

Currently, looking to invest in Corpus Christi or San Antonio. Since all my family still resides in Texas and I am there frequently, I am wanting to make that my first property. I see that you are an agent in Austin, TX, what a great place to be.
