Hi Jordan:

I'm a new investor in Clayton, Nc myself and I have done a tremendous amount of handyman work on my own, which is why I want to get into Real Estate Investing. I'm not a GC but have solid experience and would be willing to help you out with some sweat equity, just to spend some time speaking with you about your real estate investing experience thus far.

What kind of "handyman" help  are you in need of?

Thanks...POM me or simply reply.

All the best

Hi:

I been speaking with someone from Patch of Land, the HM lender. Everything sounds good about their loan program...does anyone have any personal experience as it pertains to ..were there any upfront costs, documentation they asked for , how quickly were they able to fund the deal.

Thanks

Go to tools at the top of the page, and you'll see the file section where you can search. As far as learning and finding a mentor, I would recommend meeting as many investors in your area as you can, through BP and local REIAs (sounds like you are already doing that), get to know them and find one who is willing to take the lead with you and partner on a deal. Figure out what you have to offer in the partnership, be it money, skills, or just plain old willingness to work hard. You'll have a lot better chance finding someone willing to do that, versus asking for a mentorship. Be persistent and you'll do fine, good luck!

Hi Everyone:

Though I have been a member of BP for over a year now, I have been passive in my approach and the action I have taken thus far. As someone who has worked all my life, in my mid 50's, I'm now ready to begin my journey into real estate investing.

I'm interested in investing in the Raleigh/Durham, Triangle area of NC and I would be interested in reaching out to investors in NC, possibly meet up. I'm a hard worker and I have read numerous articles, blogs and even attended a few REIA in the Triangle ( known as TREIA here.

One question, I have out the gate is where do I find the contracts to use in NC for Real Estate transactions, such as purchase agreements, Wholesale Assignment Agreements.

I would welcome the opportunity to work with a seasoned investor, at no charge to sort of learn some of the nuisances associated with being a real estate investor.

Thanks...looking forward to taking the "plunge" into the new chapter in my life.

Hi Andre

Welcome to BiggerPockets. I too am a new investor in the Raleigh North Carolina area. Maybe we could sit down and get together and see if we have some shared goals in mind.

PM me with your contact information and I'll reach out to you. Good luck to you. Steve

@Jay Hinrichs

Hi Jay

Thanks for the input on Do Hard Money.I wasn't aware of the additional $800 or any additional cost be on the $3000.

Appreciate the additional insight yes I guess everybody would get preapproved so long as you can put up the money I'll reach out to your lender and certainly advise them that you referred me

@Michael Hickey

Hi Michael

When you say cost prohibited for buy-and-hold strategy's I can certainly see that but what are your thoughts with regards to using them to Flip property

Originally posted by @Michael Hickey:

Hey Stephen,

I looked into them but determined the "cost" of the money used made it prohibitive for me to do buy and hold.  It also made the flip somewhat borderline.  Do the numbers twice and make sure it makes sense.  There is also a $3000 "buy-in" that is "refunded" after your first deal.

Hi hi Mike

 Hi Mike

Thanks for reaching out to me

I'm a new investor looking to purchase SFH, Flip them and also do some Buy and Hold properties

Currently run a junk removal franchise so I see a lot of homes that are REO, Foreclosures, distressed, etc

I reached out to Do Hard Money and I have been approved for funding

They do require a  One time upfront deposit of $3000 for your first deal which is refunded to you upon the successful acquisition and flip of your first property less the cost of an appraisal.

Mike I would be equally interested in networking with you as well send me a PM with your contact information
