I live in South Carolina and right now the answer to that question is no. You have to be a licensed agent to gain access to the MLS. If the associations were to give access to people who were not licensed agents would be upset for the cost that they pay for the access to the MLS. Association fees are not cheap. I would suggest finding a investor friendly realtor that would allow you to look at the MLS or would print the information off for you. I own my own brokerage and South Carolina and it's much easier to have access to the MLS so that you can look at deals on a daily basis that comes on the market. You may want to check with your realtor to see if they can set you up on a multi daily email from your MLS that will send you the new listings that come on a daily basis automatically.

it will be harder to get them at a good price here. You want to caught it while it is with the homeowner and you can make on offer.

Post: Is South Carolina a landlord or tenant friendly state?

@Matthew T. I think SC is a landlord friendly state. I work for an investment company/ property management company in Greenville South Carolina and we cover the Upstate and surrounding areas. of course on a regular basis go to court with our tenant and win on a regular basis you just have to have all your ducks in a row all your documentation correct. There are some cities within the state that are more friendlier to landlords than others, Spartanburg SC is a great example of that it's much easier to win in Spartanburg just because you're the landlord and your tenant didn't pay rent or they stepped out on you or they damaged the property. something to that effect will be easier to win with documentation. Before and after pictures, signed leases. We use the state rental lease agreement.

What area are you looking to buy in? I'm a RE broker as well, would love to help you if u need any!

@Marcia Maynard great great great great great advice! I can not say it any better

I am a broker and I have just gotten my License for the Atlanta area and I can do property management in that area. I have been in real estate over 11 years and would love to talk to them and see if it is a fit for us.
