How's the bandit sign "industry" in Baltimore these days. I see tons of them all over the place.

I am thinking of making them for another business.

Terraserver is really up to date, but shows watermarks with their free version. It shows my house from last year, with my boat in the driveway. All others seem to have pics from when I built the house in '06.

That's 7 sq/ft larger than a house I lived in with my mother and 2 siblings when I was a kid.

Now, my garage is bigger!

Good thread here on BP
http://www.biggerpockets.com/forums/44/topics/35985-prefab-vs-stick-built

In my area, they used stick built(they all are stick built really) for comps.

Like I said, different parts of the country have different building codes for them. It actually cost me more than if I had the same house built by a builder on site.
I think it's a little more than marketing backing up my statement that I believe they are better built ;)
My wife designed the floor plan as we wanted a wide open plan.

They aren't for everyone, especially if you have uninformed friends and family who immediately think double wide ;)

Here's an album with a ton of interior shots, I love talking modular. Out of the homes we've owned and lived in, this is the most solidly built of them all so far ;)
It is also the most efficient house I have ever lived in!

Here are set pics also, took a HUGE crane to do the work.

I built one in 2006 as my primary residence. Absolutely no difference in construction(better in some ways) financing, taxation, etc. I't on just under 4 acres and has appraised over $400K and is assessed tax wise at $350K or so.
In Md's Sdat there is no mention of any difference in construction, just standard unit with basement.

Mind you, the east coast and the west coast differ hugely on their definition of "modular" ours is a true, systems built modular, it came in 3 large pieces and is permanent.

There are a lot of misconceptions and some ignorance out there, so beware...
