@Louis Davis Thanks for the advice. Truthfully I am just curious about how others are doing. I know how am I and once I decide on something I go all out. How long did it take you to get your first deal? did you start with yellow letters and if so how much did you send out on your first campaign?

I'm looking to get into wholesaling right now in long island new york. I was just curious how well some of the wholesalers you know or if you are one yourself do in your areas. My true goal is rentals, just looking to start in wholesaling maybe a flip here and there to get some cash going. I've been reading a lot and am going to get out here and start. Knowledge wise I feel I got all I am going to get, and now its time to get in the field experience.

seems as though finding people on long island actually investing is fairly difficult on biggerpockets. I've been searching for awhile and most people here from the island are new to investing and never use the forum. I myself am attempting to do the same as you and get started in wholesale eventually going to flipping with the ultimate goal of having many rentals

I live on the island too and wanted to get some rentals, but what keeps me back is the high taxes on the island. if you dont mind saying what towns do you have rentals in?

The owner of the company i work for has a lot of rentals in Riverhead. He told me that he always has tenants in all his properties and he makes good money. I don't know anything about greenport though.

I am looking for investors on the island to offer myself to their business needs. I am willing to either learn to find deals for you or help with property management for free or if you would like to compensate me in whatever way you which that is fine. I am truly just looking to learn first hand. I do have a full time job, but my desire to get into real estate is strong and if you allow me, I will work super hard to help you after my job.

Welcome to biggerpockets. Do you have any towns in the island in mind to invest in at this time?

Yep the laws in the state really help tenants out here more than it helps land lords. I really would like to be in another state to start investing, but I going to pull the trigger here pretty soon and flip my first property. Rentals Im probably just going to have in other states
