I'm an islander as well was thinking of looking into the Mastic, Shirley area. You can find cheap houses needing some work. Of course skeptical due to the bad rep those areas have though I have friends that know people making good money there.

I want to start flipping houses and just wanted to see if there are any people here already flipping in the island. I was currently looking into mastic bordering center moriches which has some cheaper properties that need some work, but I'm sceptical about whether I would be able to sell the property as mastic isn't the best area on the island.

I was looking into Jacksonville Florida. I would like to invest in Dallas or Houston due to having family near by and I have read much about how good rentals are there. Also was looking into Arizona.

Truthfully I don't feel as though I have much choice. New York is pretty expensive and I feel like I would feel a little less comfortable committing so much time and money here. I do appreciate the article thought I have read it a few times earlier on while on biggerpockets. I will keep all your tips in mind though. Thank you.

I have read many books on finances and real estate investing, but due to living in New York, I was looking more to turnkey investing. I was wondering if anyone knows some good times for starting out or questions to ask a company before committing to doing business with them or better yet give a good reference of a company you have used and have had a great experience with.

I have thought a lot about investing out of state. I don't know much about how i would go about it, but I will learn as much as I these months I am away and be ready to start investing at some point when I get back.
