@Stephanie Salas thanks so much! I appreciate your response. I’m sure my life experiences, the good and not so good, will serve me well. Sounds like you are on your way! Wishing you the best!

@Jeff Cichocki & @Jason Lund thanks! I will definitely be checking them out.

@Corey Hawkinson I actually live in Minnesota now. That's my primary residence. I'm looking into the Wausau, Stevens Point and Marshfield areas primarily. That could change since I just started looking around and probably won't purchase for a year. By the way us Wisconsinites do most of our planning over a beer or two... and of course can't forget the cheese curds. Love my Packers!! Even if last nights game was awful!

Thanks for your replies. I'm looking in the Central Wisconsin area because that is home. I looked to see if they had an REIA in the area and I couldn't find one. So I'm soaking in all I can on Bigger Pockets right now. I know lots of realtors and loan officers in the area so I'm hoping that helps.

As a side note any women out there doing it on your own I’d love to hear your stories!

Good Morning Bigger Pockets!! Hey just curious what age you were when you started investing in real estate. Little background on me. I'm 59 have a great job in an industry that I'm burned out in. Live 3 hours from friends and family and would love to move back home in a few years. I do own 2 homes now, one is my primary residence and one is my weekend home back in Central Wisconsin. I really want to start investing in rental properties, buy and hold, and am just starting to educate myself in the process. I'll be in a pretty good financial place next year to make the move into the real estate market. But I'm wondering if at 59 I'm entering the field too late. My overall goal is to make about $4000 a month in net rental income minimum. Any advice to an "older" investor just starting out. And looking for some inspirational stories from people who started investing later in life. I'm doing this solo no spouse or partner so any advice and direction would be appreciated.
