I have been following, learning and engaging with The Storage Rebellion for a while now and am currently looking for my first facility.

I know it’s tough to know who to trust sometimes but the storage rebellion is something more than just self storage. It’s a community of people that believe in “using ordinary garages to live extraordinary lives.” It will cost you $0 to check it out. You’ll be glad you did.

I too started by listening to the BO podcast and because of how helpful it was to me, I started a podcast specific to the Rochester, NY market. I interview investors, wholesalers, flippers etc.. @Cathie Lazarus Welcome! When you say OOS, where are you referring to? There are probably some good people here willing to help if you let us know where you need it and they should see the location on their keyword alerts.

@JD DiGiacomandrea based on my investing strategy, I am not looking at facilities within the city of Rochester due to much higher prices and increased competition. Instead, I am trying to keep my search in secondary and tertiary markets. Trying to find "mom and pop" facilities with value add/expansion potential. My search criteria has been Monroe County and the six surrounding counties. I also have family in Florida so that's why I am looking there and as far as the other states go, that is where we have direct flights out of Rochester to so if I needed to, I could get there for a deal quickly. 

@Ronak Shah Funny you should mention @Michael Wagner  One thing that I learned early on is that I do not have to reinvent the wheel so to speak. So, I found a guy (Michael) that I respect and admire who is living the life I want to live and decided to model him. So I have taken the course with The Storage Rebellion and am part of The Storage Rebellion University. I am currently looking at a conversion property that is 2 hours away so I am in agreement with you, I just don't want to compete with the big guys in the City.

I really do believe that Self Storage is the way I will achieve my freedom and I look forward to sharing my journey!
