@Chris Jackson

Thank you so much for outlining your thoughts and notes here! The advice and outlook is much appreciated. Congrats on the unit in Decatur!  I live just a couple miles from Decatur in the Inman Park area.  I am pretty new and just getting started and working to meet as many folks as I can and learn from those who are doing things well while I am looking for my first deal.  If your open to a coffee or beer when in town I would welcome the opportunity to buy and meet in person.  Perhaps @Stan Sugarman we could all get together.

Happy New years!

I moved 5 years ago and now live in the Inman Park area. You won't be looking at any SFH purchases south of 500K. However if you are into renting this is an awesome area to live, right on the beltline , which makes it walk-able in an almost un-walkable city. Nice little strip of dining and shopping. Its next to Old 4th Ward, Highlands, and close to Grant and East ATL village which others have mentioned.

Happy to provide you more info and intel as I also relocated here.

Welcome!

Hi @Jered Sturm

I actually just listened to your latest interview on the podcast while on my long roadtrip from ATL back to the northeast for the holidays.  I am new to site and the space and was getting ready myself to reach out to you to simply thank you for your sharing of information and to offer any help that I can in Atlanta.  I do not have much in the way of direct real estate help however being in Atlanta for 5 years now I have a fair amount of connections (business and personal) and resources that might be helpful and know the city fairly well.

So your post about this meetup is timely!

I have both a clubhouse at my apartment complex that could be used as well as a conference room and a large office space of my company's that could be used.  The apartment complex is in Inman Park and the office Its a corporate setting in the Dunwoody/Sandy Springs area.

Please message me or drop a line at [email protected] / 215-262-8083

I think this is a great idea and look forward to getting folks together to make connections share and add value in a non sales pitch way.  For someone like myself just starting to get involved this type of opportunity fantastic.

Thanks, Shane

Hi All.

My name is Shane Connor and I am new to the site/forum.  I have been listening to the show and reading up on the forums for a bit now.  I am originally from Philadelphia and have lived in ATL for 5 years now.

I have been working non stop like a dog for the last 5 years growing a national recruiting office for my company. It is an absolute grind but has allowed me to stash up a nice amount of cash. As all of my friends are recently buying single family homes for large sums of money I can only think about continuing to rent and getting into REI and going full steam over the next 10 years so that I can build up a portfolio of cash generating assets.

I look forward to building relationships, learning, networking, and hopefully one day providing further value back into this group.

Shane
