@Bryan Clement, if you follow this link, you can email the Richmond County Sheriff's Office and they will send you the Crime Statistics. Augusta is located in Richmond County, but they act as one government - no city limits vs county area - they are one in the same. So the statistics from here will probably be what you're looking for. 

A lot of investors (and residents) try to stay in Columbia County which is the border county to the north. The town names are Evans, Martinez, and Grovetown if you're searching.
