That's great Rich! Kudos to your grand kids.

I fully agree about the military discipline in schools. When I was in the service my wife worked as a preschool teacher for the DOD (Department of Defense) school on base. She said it was a completely different class of child from where we were in California, even at that young of an age. DOD schools almost always perform better than outside schools, public or private.

Thanks Scott! The watermarks are kind of annoying but not so much that I couldn't use it. The map of the area I am looking for is about a year old but it's still more recent than other sites I've used.

Is there anywhere online I can get current updated satellite imagery? I have been using Google maps and Zillow but their maps are a few years out of date. I want to know what an area looks like today.

What initially held me back was also lack of knowledge. Well it turned out to be PERCEIVED lack of knowledge. I was terrified of what would I say if someone asked me a question that I didn't know the answer to. So I asked questions here and read as much as I could about the short sale process. Well it turns out that I knew more than I thought. I have talked to several people about short selling their house and so far I have known the answers to their questions. I have yet to put anything together, but I will keep talking to people and it will happen eventually.

So I agree with J Scott that you learn the most by doing.
