@Steve Velez

REIA closer to you. People in REIAs invest all over. They hold meetings and workshops, and you are more likely to attend because they are closer to where you are living.

@Misael Carlos Vera

I should have proofread. Supposed to say REIA which is real estate investors association. They are located throughout the country and its a place to network with other like minded individuals from your area.

@Jason Arms

Always have room for more in Memphis. Love the cash flow there. Inbox me what you have .

@Rich Ramjatan

Hi rich. I invest from Bridgeport up to Manchester. Multi families and single family flips. Mostly in new haven or Hartford counties but I will go elsewhere if deal is good

Good morning @Franklin Lucas

My name is Sean I live on Long Island.  I own rental properties in Memphis TN and a bunch of multi Families in CT market.  I would highly recommend investing out of state.  Returns are better.  Make sure you get educated on whatever market you choose and get advise from investors, property managers, and contractors.  Feel free to reach out if you need any help

@Misael Carlos Vera

Fellow New Yorker here.  I have been investing for three years now and just transitioned into full time investing.  I agree with @Steve Velez and invest mostly out of state, especially for my holds.  I would also suggest joining your local rein for networking and education.  Feel free to reach out me if you need any help

@Joseph Agudel

Hi Joseph. Welcome to bigger pockets. Great community of like minded people. I live on Long Island and invest out of state.’ Best thing you can do when starting out is network and listen to everything anyone has to say. There are a lot of strategies and you have to find the one that works best for you and your lifestyle. I would be happy to help if you have any questions.

@Leonel Vanegas

Hey and welcome. I also live on Long Island and I invest out of state. Much better returns and easier to diversify. NY also has very favorable laws that support tenants. I agree that networking is key. We have some great meetups on Long Island, and the REIA definitely helped me get started. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

@Madison Heck

Hi Madison. Awesome goals. I live on Long Island and invest out of the area. The returns are better and the taxes won’t kill you. The important thing is to find a great property manager and stay on top of them. If you don’t monitor what they are doing your investment can get out of control. Let me know if I can help at all.

@Michael Speck

Hi Michael. Great to meet a fellow long islander. I flip on the island but all my holds are out of state. I invest in the CT market and the Memphis market. I find the returns to be way better and it doesn’t kill you when a unit is vacant. Feel free to reach out if you have any specific questions. Otherwise best of luck
