For first time flippers, I recommend saving and using your own money. If you want to scale faster, you could partner with an experienced flipper. That will allow you to build a track record and get funding from Hard or Private Money lenders.

If you are a wholesaling newbie in the Hampton Roads area I would recommen @Shawn Bowen, he is a wholesaler, flipper, investor here and runs a class on wholsaling.

Post: New to the area. Wife and I are looking to buy our first house.

Hey @Justin Jones, as @Peter Siler and @David Doucet mentioned, there are a few popular meetups/groups I would recommend, each with pros and cons:

TRIG: meetups (zoom) once/month, paid membership, tons of local investors and deals, but sometimes a little 'salesy'

https://www.trigofva.com/

Hampton Roads Investor Group: Free, monthly meetups (zom) hosted by investor agents at THiNK Real Estate Team @Claudio Valdivia and @Erica Osborn

https://www.facebook.com/group...

Hampton Roads Landlord Associtaion hosted by @Patti Robertson

https://www.meetup.com/HRLandl...

The above advice is sound! If I could start over I would House Hack to keep more of my income, and learn the business then expand from there. Good luck, and hope to see you around!

You might try Polcy Genius, they helped me find a low rate that meet my needs. Advertising on BP podcast currently as well.

I would recommend @Paul Allen at PIM Tax or @Larry Pendelton at PC Financials, both are investor/accountants.

Hey Ahmad,

I guess then it all depends on your goals. If you want a full time or part-time job, then wholesaling is a good avenue to learn the business. I would recommend reaching out to @Shawn Bowen here on BP, he runs a wholesaling business with classes for new wholesalers.

If your goal is cashflow and long term wealth, then House Hacking is by far the most powerful strategy to get started. Buying a multifamily that maybe needs some work and you can BRRRR is a great idea. You would learn the purchase process, rehab process, property management, and have most or all of your living expenses paid for. This allows you to save faster for the next property. Additionally, by living in the property you would qualify for low down payment loans like FHA, 203k, etc.

If thats too great a leap, you may just want to spend 3 months learning. Listening to all the BP Podcasts you can, reading every book that relates to the strategy you pick, talking to other investors about their strategies, etc.

Happy to help however I can.

Hello Ahmad, and welcome to BP. What type of investing are you interested in? In addititon to the groups Patti recommended, you can request to join these groups on facebook:

Hampton Roads Investor Group:

https://www.facebook.com/searc...

They hold monthly zoom meetups, and have tons of people asking questions, giving recommendations and showing off their deals.
