has anyone bought foreclosed homes on the court house steps? 

If so my question is once you buy the house off of the courthouse steps is it free and clear of all liens?

I have been listening from the sidelines for a while and am ready to get active on the site. I am ready to learn.
bout me: I am a professional pilot. I do work a lot but I also get a lot of time off and as such am able to spend a lot of time learning about real estate investment.
That being said the good news is I don't need an income from real estate just want to build my portfolio.
My plan,which could change as I learn more is to buy and hold.
If anyone needs a mentor feel free to help.
