Post: How to find entity owner information in Texas

I searched with google this phrase "texas llc lookup" and came upon this site:  https://webservices.sos.state.tx.us/filing-status/...  This site does not appear to let you see the entity formation documents.

A little more digging lead me to this site which looks more like what you are digging for: https://www.sos.state.tx.us/corp/sosda/index.shtml However, there appears to be a $1  charge for each search...

Hope that helps you find the information you're looking for!

Welcome @Ryan Tuleja!

Be sure to head to meetup.com as many of the local REIAs post information and meeting schedules there. I'd suggest you look at TwinREIA (now a Facebook-only group) and also the Apartment Invstor's Group - many investors there own or got their start in Duplexes/Tris/Quads.

Good luck with your investment goals!

@John Jacobus I see that you and I are learning from the same teachers! Thank you for the lead on "Old Capital REI Podcast". Since I value the others highly I'll also look into this one.

@Tyler Goulden I really like Brian Murray's book and don't find it lacking at all. It is written in a style like you might find at a seminar - sitting and learning from someone who has done it and shares it in a relatable fashion. Lots of good info in there!

BTW, John mentioned Rod Khleif's book and podcast. Rod is currently giving away his book on his website. Go check it out before he pulls it down and makes you pay for it on Amazon:  http://rodkhleif.com/

[(Edited) Sorry, I read the question too fast and on re-read see you said condo... Are you able to do your own work in your condo?]

Do you self-manage? Depending on the infringement, I'd be tempted to pick up a fire door (slab, not pre-hung) at Menards (Mastercraft) or HomeDepot and install myself, using the existing door frame.

But, no, I have no experience with such a firm.

Good luck.

Money and experience, yes. Finding deals, too.

Ken's book is good, as is Paul's.

I also liked Steve Berges' book "Complete Guide to Buying and Selling Apartment Buildings". This had good case studies to see how he thinks.

Right now I am almost half way through Brian Murray's book "Crushing It". So far it is great; I appreciate the case studies and insight into other commercial property investment types.

Next up to read is Dave Lindahl's "Multifamily Millions".

Are the apartments held in an entity that you could purchase a controlling percentage of? If so then such an arrangement can (sometimes) avoid having the sale trigger a re-evaluation of the tax basis and bump in taxes in the future.

I'm glad to hear other say what I think -- if it has been on the market so long then what is wrong with it?

Hush, check out and request to join http://www.twinreia.com. I'd recommend you come to some of the lunch meetings if you can or the dinner meetings. The guy who runs it and some other members do exactly what you want to do and you can learn a lot there.
