80%? For doing what a management company would do? Of course I’m earning passive income from an asset, that’s the idea of investing. It would be my asset that is producing the income. The cost to store an RV of my size is about $100-150. I would also be willing to pay a flat rental fee on top of a management fee. But 80%. Why don’t I just give the trailer away?
I’m looking for a temporary solution from someone who already does something similar, so the increase in work for them would be minimal?

I think you have a great idea. I just purchased an airstream to renovate for a road trip and then set up as our 5th airbnb once we are done traveling with it. Don't listen to everyone bashing the initial post. There is someone out there you will be able to work a deal out with that benefits both of you!

Thank you sir! I appreciate that!

Good evening guys!
I have recently purchased a property that comes with a cute little "Airstream" that was previously being used for STR, and quite successfully so! However, the county no longer allows it on my property as I will be using the main residence as an STR and only one permit is allowed per lot.
So, I’m looking for help!!
I’m looking for someone that already has experience and the systems in place to manage an STR of this Glamping style. My proposal is to park my trailer on your land, you manage it by taking bookings, cleaning and replenishing, all that jazz. In return I pay a management fee to you of 20% of gross income. (Open to negotiate! Possible a monthly rent too?)

Ideally somewhere in Southern CA like Joshua tree but open to anywhere that can accommodate and attract the right type of guests! I’m thinking national parks 🏞

I think you would be looking at a 50/50 partnership on this. 20 percent wouldn’t make any sense for anyone. That’s pretty much the bottom rate a property manager charges without providing land and utilities. The land itself and rv hookup would be worth as much as the airstream itself most likely, if someone had that land why wouldn’t they just buy an airstream themselves and plop it on there?

Yes, fair point! I would definitely consider that. That would make a more reasonable offer. I want it to be right for both parties so would want it to make sense for all!
Thank you for your input :)

Hi guys, looking at the latest news on San Diego county's ordinance regarding STR. I hear they are only approving license's up to 1% of the total number of dwelling units of the entire county. I believe less than 10,000. Does anyone know the process of applying for a license and how difficult these changes have made it to get approved for one? Or what is the process/likeliness of being approved? Is it impossible to even bother there anymore?

Hi guys,

Looking into short term rental companies in my investment market. What are some of the things I should expect from them? The properties I am looking at are out of my home state.
Should or can I expect them to market and deal with bookings for my property?
Should I expect them to have an entire team that I need like a one stop shop such as taking care of guest changeover, cleanings, contractors, repairs, price management etc.
Or are these things I should expect to shop around for?
Many thanks,

Sam

Hey guys,

I recently listened to a BP podcast a few months back, and David or Brandon spoke about some of the questions they used to screen management companies before using them to manage one or some of their properties. Can anyone remember which podcast episode that was, like I say, within the last couple of months. Or does anyone have any advice on the screening methods and questions you use before selecting a management company.

Thanks in advance! :)
