Does anyone know how or if it is possible to transfer a Roth IRA to a SDIRA?

If so, who would you recommend using for this type of service?

Doing so would align more with my goals and values. When I began the Roth IRA, I was ignorant to real estate and the things you can do from a SDIRA.

Wendy Black How is the condo market there? I've seen a few for sale and am wondering if that is the niche for the buy and hold person. Maybe converting a condo into an AirBNB?

@Kevin Wang

Thank you. I will look that one up. I think I remember seeing that as a text material for a college finance class I'll be taking next year.

I've found it easy to use the tax assessor site as well. The County GIS is good to identify properties to research then use the tax site to get the other information you seek.

Outside the Bigger Pockets books, what are the best and most practical real estate books you all have read?

Ken Vingua Absolutely!! Thank you for the offer to meet. AirBnb doesn't sound like a bad idea to look into either. Ultimately, what I'm trying to find is a duplex or some townhomes I can house hack with my family for my first year using my VA benefits while renting the other side out. Then move and have both side rented once my year there is up. We will definitely have to meet up next year when I get into town. I'll be stationed at Camp Pendleton.
