Nice to meet you virtually @Connor Walsh. I'm in Boca and just starting myself as well. It def helps that your family is in RE already.

It's great that you know what you want and believes it's a good plan. It took me a while to figure mine out.

Good luck!

Hi @Elvis Albarracin,

Welcome to my world of confusion. I've been thinking about this for a while and came to the conclusion to start wholesaling first and then move to fix and flip. Why? This will help me grow my experience and network, especially with low money to invest. This is the way I thought about it, and I'm in no way an expert.

I'm in south Florida. I believe you have a better and more reasonably priced market in the Tampa Bay area!

There's a plethora of information here and the people in this community help a lot. There are also great books here that are an amazing source of education. I read two books about Flipping Houses and Estimating Rehab Costs. They teach so much. I know Brandon also has a book on investing with no money down. Maybe this is a good start!

I joined last year but really didn't do anything about it. I just recharged myself and started working on things again a few weeks ago.

Good luck!

Sam

Hey @Ryan Friess,

Nice to meet you virtually! Welcome to BP. This is great a place with tons of info here. I lived in WPB for a few years and just moved down to Boca a few months ago. From what I heard, WPB is a great area for REI. I'm currently focusing on wholesaling and will move on to fix and flip next. Rental properties are on my plan in a few years hopefully. Let's connect!

Hello @Olusayo Lawal

I'm in Boca Raton, but in no way, I consider myself an expert. I agree with you that there's a ton of information here. I actually started listening to their podcasts and purchased a few of their books. I highly recommend both. The books however are more focused on whatever you want to do. What will you be focusing on?

Hey @Jeffrey Franco, I'm new myself and found The Book on Estimating Rehab Costs and the Book on Flipping houses to be both great. In your case, since you want to focus on BRRRR, maybe the one on estimating rehab costs would become handy. Good luck!

Hey @Brandon Miller, BP had a great collection of books. I've started reading a few of them and they open your eyes to so many possibilities and options. Understanding what each one does, will help you focus more on what you'd want to do when you go back. Me personally, and since I'm starting new, I decided to focus on wholesaling for a start, to give me the experience on how to speak to sellers and estimate rehab costs. It may be a good start for you since you're in Orlando for a limited period of time. Good luck!
