Hood River is trendy I hear not been there in a while. Mt Hood Meadows via Hood River old stomping grounds. Super scenic. People from flatlands love it. Washington side has Oregon state tax refugees all up and down the Columbia. Hiking both sides of the river and Carson Hot springs across the Bridge of the Gods. And write the trip off to check that rental. Will check out. Thank you.

@JJ P. you must have a company on wheels to consider these multiple areas. Self manage? Very commendable. Sounds like serious fun to be so mobile. Are people so desperate at the coast for LTR that they will pay 1%?  Big problem for businesses down there as employees cannot find rentals.

Klickitat river is very cool  and the little towns Bigen etc.  but i think for just pure cash flow  the Dalles might make sense you have the big cloud computing center there etc.. so you get a lot of over flow from the folks that work for the Boeing subsidiary in Hood River.. they make the drones.  Cant recall the name.. but when I built the Village at Rand Road there in Hood river  60% of the commercial space was taken up by Boeing and the engineer types loved living and working there.  Any way just a thought..  for something within 60 minutes of downtown PDX ( weather permitting :) )

 Insitu is the drone company, and a smaller one called Sagetech is where I worked before Covid. If anyone is interested in The Dalles, I currently liver here and Hood River is where I worked, well I worked over Hood Rivers baby brother called White Salmon. Cute little town.

@Stephanie P.

I love what you said about :she has a job, she's a real estate investor"!!! I really like that thought and thank you for saying that. I too am in a little pickle, but my issue is due to Covid. I have been saving every penny and working as much as possible at my last job and I am very bankable...well was bankable. I have saved up about 30k which was pretty hard for me bc my job wasn't the highest paying. I also have been wanting to get into REI for many years and I was looking for home when my company folded. So now I have capital and a 750 credit score and feel like I am at a complete loss. I was thinking about doing the hard money thing but I would want to refi into a Conventional or even the FHA First time buyer mortgage (this would be my first house). I would love to BRRRR but now I don't know what the heck to do. I feel maybe now to get into REI, I would have to use hard money and try a flip but that is super intimidating. Im feel stuck now. I was sooo close too.

Hi everyone! I am looking at other markets and Ive had my eye on Boise for the last few years now. From what it sounds like Boise is overcrowded with investors and the deals are very hard to come by. I am just wondering if this is true? I am just starting out and live somewhat close to Boise, like 5.5 hrs away.

Thanks
Ryan
