I suggest finding a local RE investor meetup or group. Ask these questions from people you meet face to face. You may find a mentor or an older investor looking to sell properties of theirs.

Good advise Meghan. I think we've got our realtors figured out and we're actively interviewing lenders. I'm also looking to start going to meetups sometime with  other investors!

Hey folks,

I'm still in the early stages of finding my first investment  (getting a few pre-approvals, saving $ and reading everything I get my hands on)

My question is probably a silly one, but... am I right to question a listing that sits on the MLS for any more than 30 days in the metro area? I occasionally see deals that look good on paper, but have sat for awhile and it makes me wonder why every investor in the area has passed it by.....

Thank you, @Gerardo Dominguez. I've been very impressed with the resources here on BP and have spent at least 30 minutes a day for the last couple weeks either reading from this site or listening to the podcast!

Hey folks,

My name is Ryan Tuleja and I am new to BP, relatively new to Minnesota and am looking to become a first time investor. I am still early in the learning stage, but I believe I am leaning toward buy and hold in the B- to C+ grade single family and small multi family area.

I'd like to network and maybe find some local investors that are willing to share some knowledge. I have been involved in various areas of construction for over 20 years, with the last 5 being primarily spent as a project manager in the temperature control (HVAC) industry. I would love to offer some  assistance in the scheduling/coordination of your projects in exchange for your some of your time and expertise as I step into finding and eventually closing my first deal.

Hey all,

I'm new to BP, fairly new to Minnesota and looking to buy my first property. I would love to attend any local meetups. I'll follow some of the links and reach out to you, @Sean Blomquist to see if you have any events coming up in my area.
