I've only been a member for serval weeks but so far I've had several awesome experiences with members on here.

Because I am new to the business I don't have as much to offer from the investment side but I really wanted to connect with members on here and give my advice where I could.

One thing I did do was just search members in my area and email them. I have gotten several positive response.

Also I have been able to become colleagues with some very successful investors such as charles and rich.

I know there are going to be many more positive experiences to come.

Where did you grow up Vikram?

It's always interesting to hear about the opinions of the US from people that were not born here or grew up here. I think alot of Americans take for granted the opportunities they have here.

Thanks Charles

I'm going to be focusing all of my time into wholesaling at the moment.

My priorities are first finding cash buyers that i can work with directly and build a relationship with and then also building relationships with agents in the area.

I'm starting to see REI is mostly based on building quality relationships with people you can trust so that is my main goal.

Good advice about dealing with negotiators

I sometimes forgot that not everyone has the same values as me and therefore you have to do your due diligence in order to protect yourself from being screwed.

I hope for the best in rebuilding your reputation and business.

Any countries that stick out in your memory Rich?

Being able to travel like you is one of my goals in life. There are so many interesting people and places in the world, why limit yourself to staying in one place for most of your life.

Good luck on getting to 100, Antarctica should be crazy.

Thanks Jackie,
So far I am enjoying life down here in SD.

We are doing rehabs targeting short sales and specifically non owner occ.

How is the market doing in michigan?

My whole family is from Michigan. Parents are from Ann Arbor (both went to UofM), aunts and uncles outside of detroit and grandparents have a place in Traverse City.

I've been on the board for a couple of weeks, but I thought I'd give a formal introduction.

I'm new to the real estate investment business but am excited to learn as much as possible.

I'm currently finishing up school at UC Irvine and am living in SD for the summer.

I'm currently working with another investor down here in SD but am always looking to meet up with new people that have been successful in the business and would like to share some of their knowledge with others.

Thanks Troy, Brian, Edward, and Kevin. I agree with the what people have said about short attention spans. KISS is definitely a good principle to head when sending out these letters.

I did cold calling NOD lists for a while and I tried to dumb down my initial script because if I sounded too corporate they wouldn't be responsive.

I'm part of gen X so I know how fast people lose interest in things.

Would you recommend adding anything in to the short letter besides my name, my phone number and a couple short sentences stating that I want to BUY their home?

I've been reading up on yellow letters and I've noticed that people either use a long letter or a short letter.

I was wondering which letter has more a response?

My goal is to target non-owner occ short sales.

Also what are the benefits of using each letter for when I start to expand into more markets?
