Good morning/afternoon,

I'm a 29 year old military member stationed overseas. My LT goal is to have domestic and international real estate rentals. What would be the best course to set a foundation for this possible complex business structure tax wise? I just want to set the best foundation to build upon to go forward and not have to do many restructures or waste money.

It is something that sounds like potential especially to me. Im military stationed overseas I may be a small percentage of people in my situation but im sure im not the only one. Calling doing research on properties with a 14 hour time difference is not fun. Im sure a domestic VA that specializes in RE will work

First off I have read the hundreds of post on this topic. Im 28 years old active duty living overseas. I am shifting from a Roth IRA to a SD however unclear for best direction for my vision. I am interested in obtaining overseas condo rentals and domestic notes for my retirement account. Reasons: Overseas rentals for possible future retirement home while collecting airbnb n online travel bookings. Domestic notes due to the passive nature while living overseas with no estimated return planned.

Question: 1. Go with Roth SDIRA however, offshore rentals complicates and confuses most custodians. Pay for half of my desires

2. Go with SDIRA LLC but large upfront cost will eat either nest egg/emergency fund/or cc charge.

Just need advise or things not covered in the hundreds of post dated in the last decade. Sorry if this post doesn't give alot of details.

Great info people thanks. 1 w/d for 12 units i would hate life, think local laundrymats would be better than waiting.

Great thread, Alyssa im a newbie too with zero deals completed. My focus is SoCal MFH and my opinion is that if i perfect my ability at running the number effortlessly. I can plan my calculations at worst case and if it cash flows its right for me. Im hoping for that one "yes" in a hundred "no's" instead of driving myself crazy with market health. Good luck

Im just getting started like you but Im on the other side of the coin. Im not looking for REI to be my golden ticket just a foundation tool. Its very possible to make it happen just run your numbers then run them again. Good luck on your journey
