Hello Daniel,

I got into BP recently also. (and I am from State) I was originally planning to move to WA state after NCSU, but couldn't say no to Raleigh. It's a great place to live, especially for raising family. I will probably start attend local meeting, so hopefully see you around.

Cheers

@Andy Robison Awesome. Yeah, my company is partially paying for my MBA degree so I decide to pursue that path. I mean after all they are paying for it, why not take the opportunity. Good stuff man.

Thank you very much for your input, guys!

@Brie Schmidt 10 hrs/week sounds reasonable. That's how much time I am planning to put in once I start my MBA program.

@Andy Robison Nice, Andy. I am in my late 20s right now finishing up my 2nd undergrad degree. It's def tough to going back to school but it was worth it for me.

@Richard C. that's funny. I have been obsessed with BP lately too.. during my spare time I just read new thread on forum.. it's pretty addictive

@NA Jones I agree. It's just that practical application aka making money so much better than academic.

@Dmitriy Fomichenko Thank you very much for useful tips!

@Frankie Woods haha I can't wait until that day!

I am just curious to see how many hours do you guys put in REI. (I know it depends on your goals)

The reason why I am asking is because I have a full time job right now, and I am planning to start part time MBA program in a year. I am trying to estimate how much time I can invest on REI while working and going school for part time.

@Allison Leung Thanks Allison! Actually I got my first degree from Chapel Hill but decided to pursue 2nd degree at NCSU. And I love both schools, so we can still be friends! and thank you for your recommendation. I am reading and listening at the speed of light.

Hello, BP!

My name is Roy. I accidentally posted a forum recently without a proper introduction, so my apology.

I am an entry level electrical/power engineer in Raleigh while attending NCSU to finish up my EE degree. I am in my late 20s, and after hours of meditation I spent on BP site, I wish I found about BP earlier! I am new to REI, and I am eager to learn about the subject. (There is soooo much to learn for sure)

I guess this has been mentioned before, but there seems to be shortage of supply of MFR/duplexes around Raleigh area. However, that is not going to change my plan for future.

For the short term goal, I would like to purchase duplex, 3plx, or 4plx as a primary resident, and hopefully rent other units out to help with mortgage. My wife and I are paying rent on an apartment right now, and I feel like I am just throwing away money on rent. That's why I want to purchase real estate property. I do have a little bit of cash I have saved for down payment but I want to save up more to have cushion.

For the long term goal, I would like to have a strong financial portfolio so my wife and I can retire early. After all, who would want to work in cubicles for 30-40 years if they have a choice to retire early?

And I just want to thank you guys for all the great information you have provided. It has been very insightful, and I am looking forward to absorb information like a sponge!
