Just wondering, what are general terms and conditions you borrowed or lent money.

he worked 2 and half days, they were more than 2 or 3...how much I should pay.

It's almost going to be a month, always makes some excuse, should I drag him in court for wasting my time and giving me hard time.

Hi,

I hired a contractor for my basement remodeling.

he worked 2 and half days, after that he didn't appear for the last two week.

whenever I call him, he says he will come tomorrow, and tomorrow I don't see him.

My concern is , so far we had verbal agreement, I gave him a list of work printed on paper, he looked into that, he has a copy, I have a copy.

but we didn't sign , we agreed on total amount I need to pay. I didn't pay him anything so far.

We didn't sign any paper because he came to my house looked into work, I gave him printed list of work, I was hoping he will add all this work in his formal document and send to me for sign, but instead he told he has employees working for him, and next two days he has nothing to do, so can he start..I said yes.

So, If I don't want to continue, because the way he is working, he may take whole year.

what should I do, how to decide , whatever he did in two days, what I should pay for that, also this is a mental harassment for me also, everyday is type of reserved for me, I can't plan anything.

Since there is no contract, I can also ask him not to continue...right?

any issue with that?

@Peter Tverdov how we can figure out in advance if contractor is good one or not, he has construction licence(but not plumbing and Electrical).

My fried has used him with almost no issue.

Just wondering, is it common practice among contractors to pick multiple works and keep on hopping here and there?

also what are my rights if contractor doesn't appear for some days?

this is my learning experience.
