Hello Everyone,

This meetup will take place @ Lucky Strike Social in Somerville. We now have the entire downstairs area reserved. So when you walk in the front door just head straight towards that bar. You don't walk up stairs. I'm really excited about the Keynote speaker we have coming. I will update everyone with a short bio shortly.

Please note, in order to reserve a room for the meeting we had to book a private room. It will cost $10.00 per attendee but that includes food.

Meeting Schedule Below:

6:30-7: 00 PM: Networking
6:45-7: 00 PM: Market News and Guild Updates
7:00-7: 45 PM- Main event, Keynote speaker.
7:45-8: 15 PM- Closing Remarks and Open Q&A
8:15- 9:30 PM- Networking

I wanted to thank both speakers for last Wednesday's event. Chris and Josu'e did a great job with their presentations. For those that couldn't make it we booked the private area on the first floor which had way more space so no one had to stand during the presentation. It was a great turnout and tons of networking afterward. I look forward to seeing everyone again next month!

I uploaded a link to Josu'e's presentation and his contact information is below.

Good Morning Everyone,

The next Boston Real Estate Guild Meetup is Wednesday, August 22nd! We have a great agenda lined up for this month's meeting. This month’s focus is on househacking and how investors both new and experienced are using this method to purchase houses in today's competitive market.

Don’t miss this month’s speakers and the networking that takes place before and after the event. Highlight and schedule are below. I look forward to seeing everyone there.

Meeting Highlights:

Josu’e Velney from Winter Hill Homes purchased his first house in 2010 because he needed a place to call home. During the process of purchasing his first home, he realized how much he enjoyed the home buying process and creating win-win situations for sellers in distressed situations. Now, he holds numerous buy and holds across the state and is a local leader in the redevelopment of single and multifamily homes in and around the Somerville and Medford areas of Massachusetts. Josu’e will share his unique story and how he was able to get to where he is today.

Chris Reitchel runs a landscaping & plowing business by day and he uses his profit from his business to invest in real estate. He is going to share how he found his most recent purchase while working his day job. Chris was able to get this 2 family with 3 bedrooms in each unit for 20% below the market price and he plans to live in one of the units, so he only had to put 3.5% down.

Big shout out to @Justin Silverio & Max Taylor and Garrett Hogan for coming down and presenting. As promised we have their presentations for everyone's reference.

Presentation Docs

I hope everyone enjoyed themselves and was able to learn and meet new people at the event. Our apologies on the room size hopefully we will be back at Tony C's next month. If not, we will make sure we're in a larger room.

We're already working on next months speakers but if you have any requests for speakers/topics just let us know.

Thanks, Rob
