@Mike Wylie

Can I ask what scale of flip you're looking to do? I have some contacts in the DFW area that might know a bit more about what to look for. They mainly deal in single-family residences, but I'm sure they have good insight into the general market conditions, I'd be happy to refer you to them!

@Michael Cavitolo

My recommendation would be to get out and start networking with people in the Austin area. You'll get a good idea of the market conditions and what houses are going for, as well as meet people and expand your network.

There are several great resources and groups; one of which I highly recommend is a facebook group called "Investor Underground," where Austin investors connect on both ends of the deal. It is also a great place to ask questions and meet people!

It can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/InvestorUndergroun...

I also want to let you know once you're in the area I'd be happy to sit down, meet you, and introduce you to the area.

@Forrest Berkey

I think that @Christine Newton and @Dan Burstain hit the nail  on the head with what we like to call the "northern loop" of Austin. There are definitely opportunities in South Austin as well, but there seems to be and abundance of new opportunities in these areas that match your price point. I work with a large wholesaling firm in Austin that helps capitalize on opportunities like these, and if you would be interested in something like that I'd love to meet you.  Connect with me as a colleague and let's see if we can set something up!

@Eric A.

If you'd like to see some very reliable economic data on the MMAs in Texas, the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M's website is an incredible resource. Although I'm University of Texas alumni, it is an excellent resource to draw info from and should have the market data you're looking for on big Texas cities.

Best of luck in your REIs and if you're ever in need of some help or info on the Austin area, feel free to contact me!

@Kenneth McKeown

If you'd like to see some of the data behind market area trends and have access to some of the quantitative data behind them, the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M is the nation's largest publicly funded organization devoted to real estate research. Although I'm a longhorn, it is an excellent resource to draw info from and covers market data on most of Texas's MMAs.
