Hello, I am from Dallas thinking about moving to the Austin area soon. Was planning on looking for a duplex to live in and rent one side out for my first investment deal. What areas near Austin would you suggest cash flow well and have good growth?

Hi everybody,

I went to a meetup this weekend that was based off the book "The Wealthy Code" by George Antone. Haven't read the book yet though. The main takeaway was that you should buy properties by getting a loan with the lowest amount possible going towards principal (giving you more options) and then taking on an equity partner to pay the down payment. Was wondering what everybody thinks about this mindset. Thanks!

Hi Lawrence,

I had an internship at the Keller Williams in McKinney a couple summers ago. It was unpaid but I learned a lot!

I'm taking legends school of real estate on midway rd. Each class lasts 2 weeks and there are 6 classes which are 6-9:45 Mon-Thurs. Definitely recommend real classes over online as you get to hear real life stories and mistakes you can avoid.

Thanks Dawn and Daniel, we'll keep in touch! Carlos sorry I couldn't make the meetup, I want to go to one soon though. Kelly good idea, I actually joined a bunch of real estate meetups a couple days ago so I'm excited for that.

Hello everybody,

I am 23 years old and graduated with a finance degree from a school in Florida in May. I am new to Dallas as I've been in Florida for the past 8 years. I work as an auction administrator at a real estate auction company. I am going to work on getting my real estate license soon and am really interested in real estate investing.
