Looking again for ideas for investing up to $50,000 in a fund or passive investment for a non-accredited investor with a 1-3yr horizon. Thanks

Being a newbie I have been asking a lot of questions recently about note investing and talking to a lot of people and I come to find out there are three basic fields of thoughts out there that I would like a vote on and your opinion of why you voted the way you did. They are:

1-Note Funds (Mixture of Performing and Non-Performing)

2-One Note One Investor (1st only Performing)

3-Fixed rate loan to individuals for their use in buying notes

I would like your vote on this and why you voted the way you did.

Keeping in mind that my goal is to be as passive as possible and safe as possible.

Returns being secondary but obviously important.

Also I am non-Accredited (Thanks 2008!)

Thanks All!!

@Raymond Lopez I am currently in the fund and have been for a few years now. I have dealt with Chris for years in HML before his company started into the Tax Liens. Basically the fund has a preferred of 12% but it is only paid as the managers declare a distribution which is usually quarterly and can vary below the 12% leaving an outstanding balance forward. Contact Chris I am sure he can explain it better.

Hey it doesn't hurt to put it out there. These criteria seem to be what I've come up with in my studying of note investing over the past few weeks as the ideal note or fund. I knew it would get some peoples ire up but also was hoping to get some positive feedback. As I have stated to many of you I am 61yrs old and and am a product of the 08 crash like many, losing over 50% off my net worth. Maybe this is a pipe dream but after 08 I am diffidently gun shy, but I am seriously going to invest some of my SDIRA around Mid-February somewhere and I like the potential of investing in notes or note funds. Sorry if I came across as crazy. Maybe I need a mentor I can trust any suggestions??

Ok Note investors I would like to hear what part (percent) of your IRA is invested in the Stock Market and what part (percent) is invested in notes with a Self Directed IRA and your thoughts on diversification vs all your eggs in one basket philosophy?

Thanks all for your input so far.

To answer a few of your questions I am "not" an "accredited" investor thanks to 2008 crash.          I have current and past invested in Spec built homes, Hard Money Loans, Private Placements and Private Stock with my self directed IRA. I prefer a "Fund" or "Pool" vs "Individual" notes as I am at the age and time in my life where I am looking at more of a passive investment style. I am willing to trade a few percentage point in interest for that. I am looking for a fund that has a fund manager that's been around and knows the ropes so I can feel there is a sense of security in investing my money in their fund. Again I prefer a fund or pool investing in mostly first positions and a short tie up period. Again I am looking a $25-50k buy in. Hope this clarifies a few things...Thanks and looking forward to more responses.
