Hi BP family, How is everyone doing with Harvey? My mom lives near Friendswoodj and is getting flooding in the House. I know many of us don't always agree but what family does :) Some of you are like wise uncles and aunts, others successful ambitious cousins and a very, very small few know-it- all nieces and nephews :)Just want to make sure everyone is safe.

Chris Martin Michael Biggs definitely not trying to imply I'd make any requirements. Just wanted to know what legal situation I was in already and was there any way to protect myself. I will do my research. I think it is great you work with refugees. I do believe strongly in social justice and empowering people. I'm just trying to figure out how that works in this new venture and operate within my principles. It's all new to me.

John Anderson Michael Biggs My intention is not to discriminate. I don't know the law, so I appreciate your link, Michael. I don't know the rights of someone who is not here legally, and I appreciate your candor. This truly was not meant to come off discriminatory, but I see how someone would see my ignorance that way. I want to protect myself if possible without breaking the law or discriminating against anyone. My father is from the Dominican Republic and a resident and my mother is Mexican-American, and I would not want someone to discriminate against them. My plan for this property, as other posts can attest to is to Airbnb it because it will not cashflow or I remodel and bump up rents. This is the whole reason why we are house-hacking, to live-in and remodel. The only reason we'd keep the tenants is to set-off mortgage costs until we can transition and are prepared to Airbnb or remodel. The status question came up when someone posted something about how hard it is to evict someone who is deported. And, I thought I'd better find out what to do in this situation. This all about educating myself to do what is right. Otherwise, I would have not asked the question.

Deanna McCormick I just saw this. Thank you for the reply. When I have a moment, I'd like to ask you a question.

I'm to move on now, lol

not you, @Quinton Slay. Steve jobs

@ Got to serious for you? To much introspection. It hurts at first but leads to growth if you can handle your own reflection long enough.
