Funny.....I used to work right here in Poughkeepsie but Verizon transferred me down to Yonkers garage so now i cover yonkers, Mt vernon and New Rochelle.....one of the many reasons/incentives for me to get real estate investing going so i can leave the corporate world soon!!

Peekskill, NY is a small city in Westchester County just north of NYC. It is on the Hudson River and has Metro North trains into Grand Central station in Manhattan it is a 45 minute train ride. Housing is affordable especially Multi family for Hacking! Great atmosphere for 20 somethings...tons of bars and restaraunts! Very up and coming area. So all depends on how much of a commute she wants! I grew up there and still have family and friends living there! I plan to look for Multi-families to invest in there myself. good luck. Any questions PM me

Eddie.....Welcome to the site. I am a Newbie too! I live in the Town of Poughkeepsie and I hope to get some multi-families in the town and city of Pok! There are def some rough areas in COP but not too bad. There are actually 2 colleges here.....Marist and Vassar College. I work for Verizon and have been all around here so I know the area very well. Lets stay in touch. I could always show you around....you too @Nick Harvey. There are deals to be found up here for sure.

@Clifford Babson Welcome to the site. I am a new investor looking to get going! I have thought about going for my Real Estate license in NY also......Do you have any thoughts on good idea or bad? Does it help you with your investing? do you actively sell for a realtor Co?
